Quite disturbing to see. Oh yes I know that there are old people who shouldn’t be driving, but also many young people too. I know that many acquaintances of mine in their 70s do self regulate, ie avoid motorways and city driving, or won’t drive at night, especially since those dazzling led headlights came in. The general standard of driving by some is very bad nowadays anyway. I saw a girl go through a mini roundabout at speed, forcing a driver with right of way to carry out an emergency stop, and on the same day I was nearly rammed by a huge pickup truck whilst I was turning left, a young lad driving, cut across turning right. There are football strips nailed to many trees, not many owned by pensioners.
Imagine giving the DVLC linked access to your medical records. Why not let your doctor decide whether or not you are fit to drive? I feel that very many people will resign from driving, rather than go through this shit show, and very likely that is the aim. destroy their means of transport and they’ll likely not last as long. I could get into other issues like minorities not being subjected to the same scrutiny, but I’m sure that, that would be denied.
