“No confidence” in Rishi Sunak Letters Drafted
Mon 1:19 pm +00:00, 31 Oct 2022 6The recently installed Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has been in the 10 Downing Street hot seat for less than a week but is already facing his first leadership nightmare.
Sunak is confronted with a significant crisis, with “deeply unhappy” Conservative Party MPs already preparing letters of no confidence in the Prime Minister, fuelled by a furious outpouring of rage over his massive Cabinet reshuffle.
Boris Johnson announced his withdrawal from the Conservative leadership election last Sunday night, effectively ending hopes of a stunning comeback.
Penny Mordaunt also announced her resignation on Monday, clearing the way for Mr Sunak to be formally announced as the next Prime Minister – without a vote.
However, in the midst of a major crisis, some “deeply unhappy” MPs on the right of the party are already preparing letters to Sir Graham Brady, Chairman of the 1922 Committee, asking for a vote of no confidence in Mr Sunak, according to Express.co.uk political editor David Maddox.
He claimed that Mr Sunak’s Cabinet changes have fuelled their rage, with “a number of sacked ministers” believing he failed to keep his promise of a “big tent” government that “took in the different wings of the party.”
It’s another sign of the deep schisms that have torn the Conservative Party apart in recent months, and have gotten worse under Liz Truss’s leadership.

All to pave the way for a General Election and Kier Starmer elected as PM. Utter disarray in the Cons party is about the only way that bastard will be elected.
Indeed stevie, they are deliberately destroying the Cons it seems. First a moron, now a treasonous Goldman Sachs globalist foreigner who can never ever win a general election
Starmer is just as bad, probs worse, than Sunak. He’s a damn Trilateralist for petes sake. But he is English and won’t say anything stupid to mess up. He’s a shoo in
Also he’s the slimey git who covered for Saville (Charles the turds BFF) can this shit show get any worse.
I know Tap endorses TEDS but as much as l like them l can’t see them getting anywhere at the moment. I think things will have to get even worse before the people look past the 2 horse race we’re stuck in.
Yes I agree stevie the left/right mindset is still firmly entrenched here. I’ve made scathing comments about both Sunak and Starmer, to both leftists and rightists in my neighbourhood recently
The leftists refused to criticise Starmer, the rightists all refused to criticise Sunak. There is a bit to go before their lifelong conditioning breaks down it seems
And yes the TEDs are attractive, from what I’ve seen they are unique in uk politics as Tap says. But I expect that the situation will have to be far more acute before the fixed mindset of the politically aware changes. I suppose that it could change quickly if all of our worst fears are realised, and we do suffer a severe shortage of fuel and food here in uk
I’ve long said Pete “How bad has it got to get before people WTFU….” unfortunately looks like we’re going to find out.
Russell Brand:
Is Rishi Sunak, as Britain’s first (unelected and unelectable) Hindu Prime Minister, a cause for celebration, or should we instead be wary of his ties to the WEF, and his policies around austerity and surveillance?
