US bigwigs threaten Russia and China with 500% sanctions. Russia offers peace on same terms as two years ago.

Russia is militarily winning the war, but this means nothing to US Congressmen who believe the US rules the whole world. Russia is offering to stop the war on the same terms as were offered two years ago at Istanbul. Trump’s administration’s main target is China, not Russia. The US wants India on the US side in the world power politics scene. 500% tariffs will destabilise India as well as China, as the US moves its manufacturing from China to places like India. Apple will be caught by the 500% and would need to move its manufacturing back to the Americas – Mexico? The madness of US strategies is palpable. They will probably pass through Congress and Trump’s foreign diplomacy will be over. Ukraine is delighted the war will be going on longer, despite losing ground everywhere. They still hope the US will come in with direct intervention, rather than accept the loss of the proxy war to Russia. For Russia it’s all just business as usual – Western countries invading and getting out of their depth – and Russia’s armies tidying up the resulting mess. Will Ukraine collapse in 2026? Possibly. 2025 will be a quickening decline for Ukraine, but the Neocons cannot accept they are being defeated. They will try everything they can think of to impose their superiority on the world. Dangerous times. Stupid things can happen.
