WaPo suggesting Z change his anti-Putin rhetoric publicly in order to sway some countries supporting Russia; however, behind the scenes nothing is changing.

Alex thinks the purpose of Jake Sullivan’s recent visit to Kiev was to push the Kherson initiative; the reason being that he wants to see action in the two months between the election and January so to keep all the members of Congress on side with the war and not let any coalitions opposing it form. It does not matter if  Ukraine is winning or losing, as long is something is happening to justify keeping the money flowing.

There is talk of evacuating Kiev, but somehow it is safe for politicians, et al  to continually visit?  Or are they in Kiev? Who knows?

If evacuation does happen it will cause an enormous humanitarian crisis in Europe, far worse that in 2015 ( Serbia ). The EU knows this, so will do everything possible to prevent it.
