You may have seen the Daily Mail exposee of the politicisation of BBC Bitesize.
You can read it here.
It is designed to be a user-friendly way for pupils to learn and revise:
I took a look at the Year 6 Geography section, which contained the following:

Scroll down and we come to extreme weather:
See anything missing? Cold weather!
What a coincidence you may think, until you scroll further down:
We are told that extreme weather is increasing, which is an outright lie. And we are further told this is because of climate change.
It would, of course, have been slightly inconvenient to tell pupils that climate change has made extreme cold weather less common!
We then get the obligatory game, with Velma out of Scooby Doo, and the Case of the Failed Harvest:
And this is when it really starts to get sinister.
Velma notes that the soil is very dry and locals say it is hotter than they can remember. She goes on:
“This area is suffering from a drought. Rising temperatures due to climate change have made it more likely that there will be extreme heat and less rain”
There is, of course, no evidence of less rain globally. Or that failed harvest are more common. Nor does extreme heat cause less rain.
Bear in mind this course is aimed at 11 year olds.
This is not just oversimplified propaganda aimed at impressionable young minds, it is not even factual.
