Move over, TikTok — kids have a new favorite digital confidant, and this one answers in complete sentences. A new U.K. report, Me, Myself & AI, reveals that a growing number of children are turning to AI chatbots not just to cheat — er, study — for exams, but for emotional support, fashion advice and even companionship.
The report, published Sunday by the nonprofit Internet Matters, surveyed 1,000 children and 2,000 parents across the U.K. and found that 64% of kids are using AI chatbots for everything from schoolwork to practicing tough conversations.
Even more eyebrow-raising: over a third of these young users say talking to a chatbot feels like talking to a friend. Sure, the bots don’t eat your snacks or hog the Xbox, but they also don’t come with built-in safety checks — at least not yet.
TAP – The government global is putting all its eggs into the technological basket. Old control systems like e-ducation (control minds from elsewhere) are being undermined in the rush to rollout the new control system to be effected by Attenuated Intelligence. The voice of this new technology is being placed in front of all others with the intention of makng kids unable to think for themselves at all. Teaching is mostly about copying and stopping children from questioning orthodoxy. Now the plan appears to be the replacement of the intuitive mind (which possesses very high intelligence and has access to spiritual dimensions) with technological replacement. It works on young kids, but will they suddenly realise that the machine they are talking to has no soul, no concept of the future and couldn’t give a shit? In all probability, yes.
At that moment the technology-resistant mind will leap into being.
Of course you will keep tapping away to confuse the controllers never writing what you’re really thinking or doing. Feed loads of blaumange into the machine for it to consume.
The device will be undone by its own attenuated intelligence, and the impenetrability and the unbelievable skill of the intuitive field in those who have learned how to access intuition. In fact we can use Attenuated Intelligence as a defensive shield against surveillance by giving it exactly what it thinks it wants and never showing it that you are way more intelligent than it is capable of seeing..
I fear for the current kids, they are being enveloped by the Borg, not so slowly either. This is why it is so important that their screen time is restricted by their parents and they are encouraged to live in the real world as much as possible, team sport, any physical sport, music, art, creativity of all kinds…
Parents should intervene, not helicopter style like so many, but to facilitate freedom, risk taking and personal development in the real world. Unfortunately many parents just don’t see it, they take the easy, “safe”, screen based options far too often. Or hover over their kids like helicopters, avoiding all risks and even becoming overwrought themselves at kids football and the like
My childhood was so different “go out a play” was a normal refrain from my parents. And I did too, risk, adventure, creativity and fun with my mates. No parents anywhere, safety in numbers, we all knew who the local wrong ‘uns were and we kept well clear of them……

Kids are generally less mature now than in the past, that is self evident to an old giffer like me. So, logically, the voting age should increase, not decrease. I suppose Spermer and crew must think that they can con wet be hind the ears kids more easily. They are certainly struggling to con many adults now
