‘The deal comes before peacekeeping plans’ – Rolland Dump meets Kiev Spermer

He says the EU’s been very tough on the US tradewise, with a huge trade deficit in the EU’s favour. NATO too has cost the USA a fortune in Ukraine – $300 billion. He lists out all the things which should not have happened, and would not have happened had he been President and not Biden. He wants to save the lives of the soldiers dying in Ukraine and he wants to stop shelling out $$$$ to NATO. The US should not be allowing the drugs to be coming into the USA. He’s going to introduce reciprocal tariffs on other countries.
Spermer – any deal with Putin must be a deal that lasts and is not violated.
TAP – UK wants to be part of stopping any breach of the deal i.e. get UK troops into Ukraine
Dump – Spermer loves his country as I love my country. That’s our common thread.
Media questions saying why do you trust Putin? Zelensky?
Dump – we want to work with him. We’ll be signing a deal when he comes this week. We need rare earth metals.
Media – did you call Zelensky a dictator?
Dump – I can’t believe I said that.
Media – If British peacekeepers are attacked by Russia, will the USA help them?
Dump – The British can take care of themselves.
Spermer – US and UK have always backed each other up.
Dump – Can you take on Russia by yourselves? (Laughter)
