    When the Royal Mail was first privatised, it was evident that it was on a slippery slope. All the small investors who bought a few shares sold them out almost at once as the value rose and it immediately became the property of some multi-national or other.

    The fact that the new purchaser is foreign makes little difference. Anything that can be used to make money is snapped up and to hell with the consequences for anyone else.
