Who is Sue Gray?
Wed 4:42 pm +01:00, 18 Sep 2024According to the beeb today:
“Sir Keir Starmer’s chief of staff received a pay rise after the election which means she is now paid more than the prime minister.
The BBC has been told that Sue Gray asked for and was given a salary of £170,000 – £3,000 more than the PM and more than any cabinet minister – or her Conservative predecessor.”
I’d never heard of her, so I looked at her Wiki page which says a couple of interesting things:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sue_Gray_(political_adviser)
Firstly
“Susan Gray (born 1957 or 1958) is a British special adviser and former civil servant who has served as Downing Street Chief of Staff under Prime Minister Keir Starmer since 2024, having previously served under Starmer as Chief of Staff to the Leader of the Opposition from 2023 to 2024.”
Born 1957 or 1958? Huh, how does that work, doesn’t she know when she was born?
and
“Peter Caldwell, a former special adviser to several ministers, said it had been speculated Gray was a spy at this time, though Gray denied it.[6] According to the Belfast Telegraph, her car was stopped one night by IRA paramilitaries who wanted to take it, only for her to be allowed to pass after a voice said “that’s Sue Gray from The Cove, let her go on””
I also found a Daily Mail article from 2023 titled:
“Was Sue Gray an undercover British spy when she ran a pub in the heart of IRA bandit country?”
Is she working for Starmer AND the Intelligence services then?
Judging by that photo she looks like a tough cookie
Does anybody know any more?
