Mattias Desmet – the next steps to avoid totalitarianism; speaking with James Corbett
Wed 1:57 pm +01:00, 1 Jun 2022 2Mattias Desmet is a Professor of Clinical Psychology at Ghent University in Belgium. His theory of mass formation during the coronavirus crisis has become widely known and widely misunderstood since gaining mainstream attention. His new book, The Psychology of Totalitarianism, lays out what mass formation is, how it develops, how it leads to totalitarianism, and what we must do to change the conditions that makes these mass formation events possible.

Trouble is as fkn always, only the choir, will read the book. Sadsville Arizona.
I suspect that Mattias has reached a much more global audience than he ever dreamed of before this debacle arrived.
When he first came to some prominence I felt, personally, that his ideas were somewhat “highjacked” by a couple of more high profile personalities whom I shall not name; one in particular almost sold the ideas/theories as if they were his own. Yes, he gave credit, but still rather took the theories over.
Therefore I am pleased that he is speaking here with James Corbett who I feel is not looking for his own glory in the same way; and that the book is now published, so people will have to be careful what they say.
Also, James Corbett has quite a large and diverse following, I believe, so this should help Mattias? And James is in Japan, not NA; all to the good, as some of those in NA do tend to feel rather superior at times!! Exceptionlism is quite rampant there!
