Texas has passed a law that will come into effect in 2027 slapping a “not fit for human consumption
label” on many junk-food products, including ones that contain substances banned by the European
Union like food dyes, bleached flour, BHT, SLS, olestra, and hydrogenated oils. This is mostly coming
down from Robert Kennedy’s new NIH, though people in Texas also get credit.
Seems like a good start, except for two things. One, the list of 44 substances is WAY too short. There
are thousands of things in our food that should be banned outright. Aspartame and high fructose corn
syrup have already been removed from the list due to industry pressure. Two, this reminds us that a
label is a very weak substitute for a ban, showing us again that our country is run not by legislatures but
by big corporations. We are told food is regulated, not only by FDA but by State agencies, but as we
see here that isn’t really the case. It has been a free-for-all for a century, and only now does anyone
think of putting up a warning label. General Mills must have come up with that idea themselves, since
they know people don’t real labels. If they did all these companies would have gone bankrupt decades
ago.
I think anyone can see the insanity of allowing food on the shelf that is not fit for human consumption.
How about just skip the label and ban it? Isn’t that what our government is for? Isn’t that what we pay
taxes for? Isn’t that what regulation is about? In Europe, yes, to a limited extent, but not here.
Of course the big food producers have sued, arguing that their right to sell poison is being infringed by
this legislation. They have actually sued based on First Amendment arguments. And I am not even
kidding. Just as we saw Google lawyers arguing recently that they had a Constitutional right to censor
anyone they liked, based on the fact they had not ceded their free speech right to say and do whatever
they wanted, we see the same thing here, where Big Food is making much the same “argument”, hiding
behind the First Amendment, as if that gives them the right to sell any combination of poisons as food.
Could any judge or jury fall for either argument? No, but it doesn’t matter because people can always
be paid off. They always have been so what is different now?
The FDA is also responding, with Heidi Overton, nominee for FDA Chief, telling Congress recently
the agency doesn’t have the resources to regulate the food industry. No wonder, since the agency was
bought out by Big Pharma and Big Ag decades ago and gutted, with only enough money to promote
fake vaccines and torture small defenseless animals. Overton admitted the big food producers are selfregulating, doing their own studies on ingredients and chemicals and mailing the reports to FDA, which
then rubberstamps them without checking them and probably without reading them. Overton just
admitted FDA doesn’t even have the manpower to file the reports, much less to run their own
experiments to check them. Notice Overton says she would need more resources for GRAS
notifications. So they need more taxes just to notify companies they need to obey the law. I’m sorry,
don’t companies already know that? Shouldn’t the companies hire someone to read new laws and make
sure they are in compliance? So notification still isn’t regulation, it is just busywork.
Let me see if I get this straight: the US, the richest country in the history of the world by far, spends a
trillion on “defense” every year, though no one is attacking it, almost ten times what any other country
spends, including China, and the President wants to increase that to $1.5 trillion, but we don’t have
enough money to be sure the food on the shelves isn’t full of poisons? You and I always assumed FDA
was putting each new ingredient through rigorous safety tests, with huge teams of top government
scientists, but that isn’t even close to being the case. FDA is mostly a bunch of suits bribed by Big
Pharma and Big Ag, sitting around filing papers and taking meetings, and the few scientists it hires are
sadistic ghouls spending your taxes to torture bunnies, puppies, and monkeys with electrodes, knives,
and various poisons.
I have told you before (2012) and I will tell you again: you need to totally boycott Big Food. Any
company that would hire lawyers to make these absurd arguments and fight regulation should be
avoided at all costs. Just to remind who these companies are: [see link for images]
You will say you can’t boycott all Big Food: you would starve. Nope. In fact, you are starving your
body of real food by eating that garbage. I don’t buy anything from any of those companies, not even a
stick of gum, and I am not starving

One way to ensure that people eat less junk ‘food’ would be to close all the outlets like MacDonald’s, PIzza Hut, KFC, etc. Before they existed people cooked proper food.
I remember that in the UK, secondary schools had domestic science lessons where presumably students learnt to cook. Now it seems that young people prefer to spend hours gazing at their telephones rather than spend time on something that might be good for them which would set them up health-wise for life.
Problem with that Belyi is that it is too totalitarian. Who decides what is closed and what is allowed to stay open? Civil servants? Ha ha. Who?
Real effective regulation is the way to go. Independent of both Governments AND Corporations
But ALL existing “regulators” are effectively captured by industry honchos, pretty well without exception. So they ALL need to be scrapped and replaced with something real
Will never happen of course here in the “free world”. Where Corporations and Financial interests own EVERYTHING, Governments, Corporations, Media, Central Banks, Scientists etc, the lot
Oh I agree, Pete. The best thing would be for everyone to decide that eating junk is not conducive to health, but I know that’s a Utopian idea.
We’ll have to wait many, many years before people wake up and realise that they’re giving money to financial corporations that certainly don’t have their best interests at heart.
