Trump edges aside political class in his appointments
Fri 9:24 am +00:00, 15 Nov 2024 8Trump’s appointments explained by Alexander Mercouris.
Rubio appointed to State Department – not consequential.
Sec Of Defence appointment has military background, not a bureaucrat – loyal to Trump – and not a Washington man.
CIA director similar – experienced at the job – loyal to Trump.
Attorney General – including FBI – loyal to Trump.
National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. Courageous politician. Attacked by Democrats frozen out of all discussions, and all publicity during Primaries. Wisdom in foreign policy lacking in mainstream political class.
Interesting presentation – House of Reps leader also Trump loyal and unacceptable to political class. Trump wants a new Washington without ‘the blob’ or ‘Deep State’, wresting power away from the Washington bureaucracy, who frustrated Trump in his first term. Re-establishing democracy and the Constitution.
Others see this a massive power grab by Trump, imposing power over the bureaucracy and taking vengeance over his former enemies. Trump should be in a strong position to impose his will if he succeeds.
So much for checks and balances then, see the Whiteheads article from earlier in the week
Congress is a corrupt money grifting operation, rather than a legislature. They milked the Ukie magic money tree for all it’s worth it seems. I’ve read that they were regularly flying in to Kiev to pick up their diplomatic bag brown parcels of the folding stuff
Supreme Court is politically compromised and biddable, plain for all to see
Which leaves “power” in the hands of an “Administration” faction with the President as their front man, the teleprompter reader
“Re-establishing democracy and the Constitution”? I will believe it when I see it, I find it very hard to believe that anything will really change. Particularly with what we know about the nature of the Orange mans puppetmasters, see numerous posts on Tap this week
Even RFK, he’s from the families and will play the game like the families always do. Will he really attack pharma, I doubt it very much, hope I’m wrong. But pharma clearly outrank the pols, see Covid
I hope that the Pentagon reins in the desire for war in the numerous lunatics that Trump has appointed to his “Administration”. They seem to have more sense than the rest of these shower of wrong ‘uns
And what about the Fed? They surely represent the top dogs don’t they?
Mercouris making excuses and always ignoring the elephants in the room, and one in particular.Creating his own narrative to keep his audience coming back for more.
For some time now I have not been able Ito take this man seriously, and marvel at how many continue to do so. Someone who uses language, vocabulary, the ability to speak intelligently and endlessly from once being a practising barrister, along with an implied attitude of authority to mesmerise an audience who desperately want to believe the hopium.
Makia Freeman explains this psychological manipulation succinctly. Brian Berletic also understands the huge role it plays.
Didn’t know that he is a barrister, that explains a lot, thanks danceaway
I wonder which Temple he studied in 🙂
And yes, elephants in the room, you mean that massive one over there?
Well I never…
Seems Mercouris was struck off as a barrister in 2012

Btw, he studied at the Middle Temple

I suppose that it give him anti Establishment credentials. Every cloud and all…
He was apparently debarred, and there may well have been some shenanigans; I never looked into it seriously.
So he has reinvented himself; Alex Christoforou calls him “The Oracle of London” perhaps slightly in jest but also to help create this aura of. importance. and to help bring in the moolah. He has a huge audience on you tube, for he is also an entertainer of sorts, as he spins away. He can be enjoyable to listen to and even quite convincing if he is one’s principle source of information.
I never really cared for the man. Let me explain a little more about my limitations first. My good lady at home is practically faultless, unfortunately I am not. She loves TV, me, I don’t, but I’ll watch quiz shows, comedy, and occasional films. Here’s the downer though, the film has five minutes to capture me, or I’m off doing something else.
I tend to be like that with a lot of things, and yes I know it’s a fault, but the likes of Mercouris and some others, seem to talk a lot but say very little, and attention deficit takes over I’m afraid.
On looking back at this comment, I might just have done what I accused him of.
There is no perfect source. He is one that has his place and a mass of knowledge of detail. Whether his overview stacks up I can’t say, but we have to admit Trump is a better step to take than Kamala. There might be some hopium offered (or not), but if we are all doomed, then we wouldn’t bother reading and chatting would we. Even Berletic seems to see the need for a moral compass. Mercouris doesn’t state his summaries in two minutes when half an hour will do. You need time to get his drift and I usually click forwards ten minutes at a time, and see if he’s moved topic once I’ve got the topic he’s chewing over. His battlefield summaries are decidedly pro-Russian. That would get anyone struck off at The Middle Temple. The other Alexander (Christoforou) obviously has more touch with US politics – and is more cynical. If we only had CNN/BBC I think we would be finished. Those brave enough to push out alternative theories are helping overall.
