You must be proud Henry.
I think the word is ‘amazed’ Ian. He started singing in the car non stop for hours when he was two years old. He makes his own decisions and asks me to leave the room when he’s practising or arranging. Otherwise he’s just a kid. I know other tappers have gifted children. I wonder if media scepticism in parents sets children freer to express. Not as intimidated by the world
Excellent Henry your lad comes across as a lovely young chap and is clearly very talented
Don’t know about “proud” though Ian, Pride is “.. considered the original and worst of the seven deadly sins on almost every list, the most demonic.[39] It is also thought to be the source of the other capital sins. Pride is the opposite of humility.[40][41]”.
Sorry to be so pedantic mate 🙂
Google “Pride” and you get loads of stuff about homosexuals. And not much about it being a sin
Thanks Pete.
Thanks for the heads up Pete. Times change. Gay used to mean happy, I just meant that pleasant feeling when your children do really well.
Thanks Ian. It’s so hard to get recognition at schools. He was barred from singing in public for years by teachers who saw him as a threat or something!!! The new music teacher that took over has been brilliant. There are favourites of the teachers – and don’t you dare outshine their children. You get dropped from teams if you do too well. They are like mini Banana Republics. Money and position for the heads and their deputies is what they are about. Capital spending projects for ‘selected’ contractors, and so on. You need to get outside the schools somehow to be able to progress. Luckily Mum entered him at talent search UK. They are a lovely lot and give emotional and technical support all the way. Great for his confidence and a great experience all round. They don’t pressure at all and allow them to be kids, and understand what kids are, unlike most schools. I was told, when I complained about him bring dropped,’He’s only an eleven year old boy.’ His replacement was the teacher’s own son……..
This happens in the dance world as well; teachers cannot bear it if someone outshines their own child, so remove them from performances, refuse the normal extra lessons before exams. It is so transparently obvious.
Same everywhere now danceaway. My grandsons cricket club are just the same, they favour the coaches kids
Nepotism is acceptable. As is Pride. As is perversion. As is, as is, as is
We’ve lost our moral compass as a society. It’s been destroyed and anything goes now sadly
I won’t wax lyrical about that but I’m pretty sure who the culprits are. Not real Christians or Muslims that’s for sure…
It wouldn’t be so bad but the schools I describe are private fee-paying schools. I could write a book describing the goings-on. The funny part is the parents driving their Range Rovers. They just don’t get it, and roll over and accept what to me is intolerable injustice, with their children being barred from achievement. No one likes to rock the boat. I do rock the boat and get a mixed result – concessions where before there weren’t any, but every possible sleight is made in return, with bully staff engaged by the great ego or egos at the top to do their bidding. I feel sorry for their overpromoted children and favourites who know they are being given position they don;t deserve, but have no choice but to accept. The teachers don’t seem to realise they are being covertly laughed at by many parents. It becomes necessary to look outside the school and find things like Talent Search UK, sports opprtunities and so on, to bypass the attempts to suppress natural ability. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lneMt_YKUdA&t=98s
