The USA is withdrawing from the Middle East and Europe.
France, Britain and Germany are seeing changes in political developments.
Talks have been held in Vienna between European diplomats and Russia – not officially sanctioned, though unofficially supported. The US is out of Ukraine. Russia has fought through to the last strongpoints in Donbas. Europe needs Russian oil and gas, given the mess in other regions.
The EU and NATO want the war to continue but the countries involved, France, Germany and Britain need the war to end. Russia nd the others need a common European security architecture as NATO has failed to keep the peace in Europe.
NATO is a total failure and we need to move on. The EU likewise.
