Europe doesn’t want the truth to be told
Mon 10:04 pm +00:00, 24 Feb 2025The West is dividing, the US on the one hand and Zelensky backed by the Europeans on the other. Russia wants a resolution passed which states the root causes of the conflict, and clarifies the role of NATO, and states the discriminatory actions taken against Russian speakers within Ukraine, removing the Russian language from Ukraine, removing Russian from schools and universities. Ukraine has also tried to liquidate the Russian Orthodox Church from Ukraine.
The UK never or hardly ever mentions any of these things.
The Russians want the Bandera ultra nationalist forces to be suppressed across Ukraine.
It’s hard to see how that can prevent a discussion of the events of the Maidan and the illegal/nationalist overthrow of the elected government in 2014.
The draft resolution about the conflict in Ukraine at the UN could be amended to include these terms, but is that wise or achievable?
The UN is divided with western powers openly arguing with each other at the General Assembly, also at the G7. The Europeans complain angrily about American actions but continue to back resolutions which they must know the amercians won’t agree to. They should back the US resolutions at the UN General Assembly.
Trump’s positions are already taken and he has the full backing of the US in that regard.
All the Americans are currently doing is to talk to the Russians to try to bring them to negptiate with the Ukrainians and this they are willing to do.
The Ukies on the other hand are not willing to come to the table and negotiate with the Russians.
The American resolution at the UN will probably carry, and the Europeans will then be defined as those who want to prolong the war.
Why would the Europeans want to isolate themselves in this way against world opinion?
The show of division of the western powers is achieving little.
The other side – the China Russia strategic partnership on the other hand is strengthening. They speak often. They are now publishing read outs of these phone calls to the world’s media, indicating how the relationship is growing – investment, culture, education, sport, – warm friendly discussions. Strategic relationship with agreed schedules for meetings and the agendas. China supports the dialogue between Russia nd the United States, and the search for peace in Ukraine. The Chinese readout matches the Russian.
The problem for Russia is that Ukraine is a regime of lies with little truth. See the below video when Ukraine shot down a Russian plane carrying Ukrainian POWs to a prisoner exchange. The West under Biden copied all Uktraine’s lies. Under Trump, the lies don’t carry and are no longer given credence. It’s very hard to negotiate with outright liars. Europe is where the lies are now located after BIden has been replaced with Trump. Trump dumps the lies and the liars. See Emil Cosman’s video underneath.
Alexander Mercouris’problem is that he wants the world’s established bureaucratic systems to sort out a war based on lies, and he thinks the objective is possible. He wants everyone to compromise. Russia knows better, and is willing to fight on for truth to be established. Europe is based on lies – the EU falsely presented as a peace-loving, democratic, honest institution when it is a continuation of the worst regimes of Europe during WW2, and hides its true intentions and purpose to destroy all the countries of Europe, readying them for totalitarian suppression by world government. Starmer is lining up with the rest of them, while others like Orban know better, along with Serbia, Slovakia, Austria and potentially Romania.
Emil Cosman only wants to work from truths. He succeeds much of the time. Mercouris wants the lies to be papered over as the size of the job of unravelling them appears so daunting. The spirit of the new power axis of the world, viz Russia nd China, appears more benign. Why not settle only for truth afyer so much sacrifice and loss? To allow Europe to dictate terms to the world which is sick of the lies would be a betrayal.
