Sure, Everyone Still Loves the Irish Right?
The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street is the 22nd episode in the first season of the American television anthology series The Twilight Zone. The episode was written by Rod Serling, concerning a suburban street whereby the residents—paranoid of an alien invasion—eventually start to murder one another in a riot.
The episode contains one of Serling’s most profound soliloquies:
”The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. Some weapons are simply thoughts, attitudes, prejudices … to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill … and suspicion can destroy … and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own—for the children and the children yet unborn. And the pity of it is … that these things cannot be confined to The Twilight Zone.”
The Normies in this country have been slaughtering one another nonstop since just before Christmas. I can’t recall a period of so many random murders. It’s nonstop HighwayDie and KasualKill among the profane of this fully vaxed isle.
‘Danzig Effect’ in full effect. Sheer terror among the Canteen echoed through the Normies as they will start paying the bill for “Orange Man Bad” is now approaching. They also crave any lockdown they can get. They are terrified of the post-Late Late Toy Show reality. The Christmas adult onesies they bought special for that didn’t make their primal terrors go away. “Simon…Michael…Helen…please make the fear go away” as they scream into the Abyss.” “The Israelis lost and everyone thinks we’re great right??? Right???” “Ireland won’t be an outcast nation as soon as Trump takes office right???”
The Irish right now reminds me of the simpleton kid on the fringes of a gang who got to commit a crime and he does it thinking he’ll win their respect. But they all laugh and leave him to his fate when the cops arrest him.
Imagine destroying a nation for Palestinians. A group which other Arabs can’t even stand. Destroying your children’s future for the ‘feels’ of waving a Hamas flag because of Glasgow Celtic/Sinn Fein something…something???
Fascinating to observe. A major Fortean event might be on the cards here too as their psychic terrors spool up into the heavens. Moving Statues might make a return. The Irish Establishment should be in a state of panic right now. Instead: denial. Decades of first-name mediocrity and nepotism have turned the country into Maple Street.
Expect lots of politicans retiring early to ‘spend more time with family’ announcements.

The woke nominally “left” Establishment there waves Palestinian flags all the time it seems, virtue signalling while ignoring the death of the Irish Republic and Irishness
Thomas sneers at them because he thinks that they should be waving the Irish Tricolour, amongst many other complaints. Ireland was massively jabbed in the pandemic, very high % accepted. It is crushed
Ireland has also been swamped with immigrants too. According to Thomas, it’s now the classic NWO basket case of a country that deserves to fail
The economy is owned by Silicon Valley too, who fly a flag of convenience there
Of course it is far far more complicated than that, a glance at his substack will give you an idea, his back catalogue of videos even more so. He is very productive so lots to look at if you are interested. I’ve absorbed him over an extended time
He’s also a pagan. He looks at the world through a very different lens to most folk
Thanks Pete. My first thought was that after “Good King Billy” trounced them at the battle of the Boyne. Then replaced them in the north with Proddy farmers from the mainland, thus making many of the Catholic Irish, second class citizens in their country of birth, that they would have an affinity with the Palestinians. I however take your point. I can be naive at times.
Yes Ian but they became nominally independent and established a Republic in early 20thC. On the surface at least, the Masonic English never left in reality. The Grand Lodge there was established in 1725
Still, Irish culture is rich and different. According to Thomas then, the old Druid/Pagan culture, which had lasted a very long time, was absorbed into the Catholic church by osmosis and sort of went underground. Ireland is replete with Neolithic Monuments too which Thomas knows a lot about
I realised when I visited Cork a few years back that Ireland had a rich old sophisticated continental trading culture as far back as AD1000. About the same time as William the Conk was setting up shop here. And that all that stuff that we used to get about thick Paddies was just rubbish

The early part of the book is hard work Ian, but it is important because it sets the scene. As soon as I finished the book then, I returned to the start to fully absorb what he is saying. Because it informs all the subsequent events that he catalogues
The longer you read on then, the more interesting it becomes. Particularly events that he catalogues in 19th and 20th C. Which you will no doubt have extensive knowledge about already
I didn’t agree with everything he says by any means. But he is certainly very thought provoking. And current events fit very clearly as an extension of his narrative [which ends in 1956 with Suez]. He explains how Suez demonstrated to the, mainly uncomprehending, world just who calls the shots. Eisenhower was just the latest in a long line of US pols who bowed the knee. Wilson, Roosevelt, Truman and Eisenhower and on and on
