Each of the variations is a musical depiction of a friend or family member of Elgar.

One of the most gorgeous of the Royal Ballet’s ballets brings each of these persons to life in a balletic depiction of Elgar’s life and relationship with each. It brings the house down each time it is performed.

It’s almost as if you can feel Elgar’s self doubt in the music. Brilliant, and a learning curve, even a refreshing learning curve for me. Thanks D’.
