    Reminded me of an old friend of mine in Liverpool back in the day. He was a window cleaner, come cat burglar. Looked through the windows of rich man’s houses and took his opportunities when they arose

    T grew up in a tenement block in the Dingle, near the South docks in the 1950’s. Still a lot of “bomb sites” then, large areas of bulldozed bricks where the old houses had been before the Blitz. Liverpool was very badly hit because of the docks and didn’t redevelop some of those sites until the late 1960’s, we used them as car parks

    T was the last of 8 kids in a 2 bed apartment where the family lived, his first bed was a chair in the corner. Honest as the day is long with his mates but not necessarily with authority figures. Who could blame him, certainly not me. We became great friends despite the stark disparity in our backgrounds. He passed several years ago, God bless him
