Confusion in Georgia as West attempts regime change – Patrick Lancaster on Duran
Thu 4:46 pm +00:00, 12 Dec 2024Big protests but no violence says Patrick Lancaster. No Police reaction against protesters as yet. There was violence on Friday when protesters hit police with industrial pyrotechnics. The Police responded with with water cannons and tear gas – effectively. The protests turned into riots and clashes with Police and protesters until they dispersed. The Police showed restraint until that day. Protesters were throwing glass bottles and stones. No protesters injured or hit by anything by Police. Anyone incapacitated by gas including Patrick himself were helped by medics in the protesters. Many journalists confirm it was tear gas – very effective. Tear gas was more effective than water cannons. Fireworks were coming out of apartments on main street. Protesters are being respectful of the businesses on the main street – very few broken windows. Minor damage. many thousands of people – tens of thousands of people. Most protesters between 15 and 25 years old, pro-European, anti-Russian, anti-Georgian Dream Group. Many extreme symbols, NAZI, AZOV – surprising and interesting to see, in many places.
Georgian journalists that were pro-Georgian Dream published pictures of Patrick Lancaster giving loose call to protesters to go after Patrick and other journalists. Pushed. Threatened. Cursed. Followed. All Patrick reports is the facts. The pro-EU don’t want the facts to be published cutting his work back from the evening. Protesters are restricting freedom of speech. They are looking to get Russian journalists removed. They’re trying to control the narrative.
Patrick interviewed some members of crowd who were older, saying the protesters were wrong and should not be protesting in their city. Expressed similar ideals being pro-EU but not against Georgian Dream. Election was not rigged. Only 5% support the protesters.
