The crisis in Ukraine reaches more dangerous stage as war nears explosion to global scale
Sat 10:57 am +00:00, 25 May 2024Putin and Lukashenka discuss US permission to Ukraine to use their weapons deep ino Russian territory. This would no longer be a proxy war, or at least breaks the convention that proxies of superpowers can attack proxy territory but not the territory of a superpower. Russia will respond possibly with nuclear strikes on US satellites like Germany and Britain. Russia and Belorus are moving closer politically. This is moving into a missile crisis and maybe a hot war.
Hungary is reconsidering its position within NATO, not its membership.
Morale sinking inside Ukraine.
Swedish military officer says West cannot keep up with Russian military production. The British are saying that China is already supplying Russia. Alex doubts that is the case.
Does the West realise that they are talking themselves into a hot war with Russia?
The West doesn’t have the weapons to fight in Ukraine. Western armies are too weak. The EU does not have nuclear weapons.
Talk is cheap and the EU countries show bravado to each other, but will they really act according to their rhetoric? Hardliners want more escalation. If Russia is attacked, Russia will respond, including attacks on Britain and Germany, and hit US bases all over the world, including in Europe. US bases worldwide are highly vulnerable. So are French and British. British and French have backed off. It’s being decided inside the US. War could go global.
