This is total nonsense. Scott Ritter either has no idea or he has no idea. Putin is threatened by a traitorous fifth column in Moscow as Victoria Nuland loves to point out in her threats to have Putin removed. The Wagners are 200% haters of NATO, and want to win the war. They are loyal to Putin. Prigozhin is popular amongst ordinary Russians who understand the corruption of Russia’s bureaucracies only too well. I am aghast that Ritter thinks Wagners would trade with Britain or the CIA their deadliest enemy. Thinking Prigozhin is suddenly after Putin shows total ignorance of the political scene in Russia. The problem for the western media is if they tell the truth about the situation, all their carefully crafted narratives collapse. The problem they have now is that they’ve spun so many lies, people might start to see through the web which has some large holes appearing. The supposedly alternative media clearly isn’t quite as alternative as you might think…..even Scott Ritter has to make a living.https://tapnewswire.com/2023/06/cut-prigozhin-a-break/
We dont know either way.
Ritter bases his assumptions on timing of events and previous false statements of Prigozhin.
To add to the grist Prigozhin is said to have previously had a good relationship with Putin.
The easiest way to co-opt an organization is to bribe the leaders. Which works both ways. Also works with media figures.
…………………
Prigozhin is a St. Petersburg oligarch with an unusual success story.
In the 1980s, he was locked up in a Soviet prison after being arrested for armed robbery. By the following decade, Prigozhin was in charge of the Kremlin’s catering service, thanks to another improbable plot twist.
Upon his release from prison, he began working with his stepfather as a hot dog seller, a business he turned into a catering service and then a St Petersburg restaurant called New Island. Over time, the restaurant became a popular hangout for the city’s elites, including Vladimir Putin, then the right-hand man of the city’s mayor.

The only word you need to remember from Prigozhin’s supposed bio is ‘elite’. No one survives ten years in a Russian jail. Ritter should do a cui bono analysis. Every time there’s a bit of drama, only one thing happens – Prigozhin gains money and influence, and so does his buddy. Prigozhin’s statements make it quite clear that PUtin is the object of his ire, but Shoygu and Gerasimov. Why does Ritter ignore what Prigozhin says and spins another line which has no chnace of being true.
Does anybody believe that Wagner could have sent tanks to Moscow? The Russian army and airforce would have destroyed them.
If the rest of the army backed the Wagners the coup against the Defense MInistry would have worked. In fact it worked anyway, as the terms of the backing down agreement were favourable to Prigozhin according to sources. That means that in due course, Shoigu and Gerasimov will be moved.
Its a very very long trip from Rostov over 1000km 12 hrs + in a car.
Could the whole thing be an elaborate hoax to cover for mass troop movements ?
I think there was little chance that the Russian military would have supported this and as soon as Putin declared them traitors, Prigozhin backed down. Putin has a lot of support from the Russian people but I’m not saying everybody likes him. The details of this incident will come out and Pepe Escobar will likely have good info.
Riley (Edward) mentions Pepe, among others, in his substack article just posted.
Brian Berletic has just posted his view on the New Atlas YouTube channel (13m 46s).
I just finished listening and posted it. Excellent as always. Thank you for the time stamp.
