    I agree. They will prevent power loss for many people – as long as the sun shines and the wind blows where you are. The horizontal axis wind turbines are not such a problem as the verticals regarding birds. The big bird killers are the vast towers which sell to the grid. Carbon is no problem for the earth – in fact it enhances greenery and life. But if we are forced to become independent of the grid, and we are being with vast price rises of ten times the previous cost of electricity emergency rates are over £1 a unit – what else do we have to save ourselves? Find a livelihood that doesn’t need electricity or transportation. The only one I can think of is being an artist……

      How do you think that image gets there? Magic? Or electricity?
      Energy prices are due to policy & the eco-fascist lobby. But, if you advocate eco-crucifixes & solar panels, I’m sure the govt. will support you.
      I’m backing hydro-carbons over & above airy fairy wishy washy idealism of off-grid power. If it gets that bad, you’ll need a gun.
