Russians achieve victory in Kharkov region

Ukrainian military casualties in just five days of its counteroffensive exceeded 12,000, Russia’s Defense Ministry has claimed.
More than 4,000 Ukrainian troops were killed and another 8,000 injured between September 6 and 10 in the south and east of the country, ministry spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov said during a daily briefing on Sunday.
According to the official, Russian forces conducted “precision strikes” with missiles and artillery targeting pro-Kiev units in Kharkov region, from where Russian troops retreated earlier as part of what Moscow described as “redeployment.”

TAP – That’s lifting the Ukrainian/NATO casualty rate from 300 a day to 3,000 a day.  This more like it if Russia is looking to defeat the Ukrainian and NATO armed forces deployed there.
Of course NATO can tap into Poland’s manpower numbers once Ukraine’s have been substantially wasted…or even British, American, French and German.
But just taking this announcement and today’s situation  into account, under Von Clausewitz’ definition this is a victory to Russia.  Destroying your enemy’s forces is more important than holding territory.
