Btw, I was in the South of England recently, a rare trip down from my base here up in the north of England [God’s Own country as they say round here]. And I found that the use of cash there has almost gone already. It was refused a few times, citing “security” when I questioned. Security in a secure middle class, well heeled, affluent, area? Utter nonsense. I pointed this out a couple of times and got blank, confused looks. I could almost see the cogs whirring in their noggins
