Well, bad enough that the Iranians were targeting Chinese ships, now the Chinese have retaliated by freezing Tehran’s funds. The Iranian President had an interview with Fox News two days ago in which he casually revealed that China continues to sanction Iran.
“One of the problems that we face is that our money in China is blocked. We can’t even get our own money out of a country to which we have supplied goods, let alone use those funds to pay someone else in another corner of the world.” [1, 2]
The context was that he was being accused of funding terrorist groups around the world, to which he replied, “bro, we don’t even have any money anymore, China stole it lol”.
At 15.25.
In related news, Trump met with Xi two days ago as well.

The media reports that they talked about AI.
Somehow, I doubt that these two old men know much about AI.
I think they talked about money. Sanctions, perhaps.
China holds the largest share of Iran’s restricted overseas assets, estimated broadly between $20 billion and $50 billion from continuous oil sales. From what I gather, it works like Russia’s frozen assets also worked. To buy things from China, you need to keep money in China in yuan. And you get those yuan from selling them oil. And using that yuan, you buy toaster ovens or whatever.
Tehran is heavily dependent on China, because nothing is made in Iran. It is simply a resource colony that happens to have 90 million people living in it. And, sadly, Beijing abides by American sanctions. Those assets were frozen because Washington demanded that they be frozen as far back as 2019. China only buys about 90% of Iran’s oil, and that money just sits in these accounts, with Beijing claiming that they can’t release it to Iran because that would make Washington mad. So, they figure out a way to barter for it. Those Chinese-made toasters, for example.
But yeah, tell me more about the Axis of Resistance.
Russia has done nothing to help Iran. That is because Iran has been, if anything, a constant geopolitical rival to Russia, never an ally. Furthermore, as Putin has pointed out, Russian is the third largest language in Israel for a reason. And China has not become the factory of the Resistance either. They make more drones for the Ukrainians than they do the Russians. And they have done nothing to get Washington to back off Iran, to secure their oil imports. Well, they brag that they strong-armed Tehran into signing the peace deal a few peace deals back. Does that count?
Time to wake up.
There is no Resistance.
If anything, the members of the Resistance are fighting amongst themselves in a game of musical geopolitical chairs. When the music stops, one (or more) of them is going to be destroyed. It is looking like Iran, thankfully, will be the one to be destroyed first and most thoroughly by the Judeo-Crusader West. Russia will limp on until the EU invasion can get on its legs. Maybe though, by that time, Putin can convince Washington that he’d be useful in their war against China, and manage to survive a little longer still. It seems very unlikely at this point, but still.
Over in Siberia, Beijing has refused to cooperate with Moscow to create a new Siberian pipeline supplying China. They’ve also stopped purchasing electricity from Russia. During President Putin’s visit to China in May 2026, both sides signed 42 cooperation documents, but no agreement was reached on the Power of Siberia 2 pipeline. Due to China’s reluctance, the contract signing has been indefinitely delayed. Chinese officials even reportedly asked the Russian delegation not to press the issue. Russian media and analysts widely view the project as “effectively frozen”.
China has completely stopped importing electricity from Russia starting January 1, 2026. Since August 2023, Russian export electricity prices have exceeded China’s domestic prices, making purchases economically unprofitable. The trade has effectively ground to a halt, even though the long-term contract remains formally in place and therefore, contractually, China is obliged to buy it. But, no dice.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that Washington is in talks to acquire the European portion of the Nord Stream pipelines and restore them. He indicated that the U.S. would then allow the transport of Russian gas, with the U.S. reselling it at a markup, effectively taking control of the pricing mechanism and making most of the money, which would come from EUrope’s pockets. According to Lavrov, the U.S. plans to buy out the European companies’ shares at a price roughly one-tenth of what the Europeans originally invested. This would mean the pricing power would shift from a Russian-German agreement to one dictated by the friends of Trump.
Over in the far, far East, ExxonMobil held a 30% operator stake in the Sakhalin-1 oil and gas project before it left Russia in 2022, taking with it a $4.6 billion impairment charge. Russia then seized the stake and awarded it to a subsidiary of Rosneft. The rest of the story you know already. In August 2025, President Putin signed a decree that could allow foreign investors, including ExxonMobil, to regain their stakes in Sakhalin-1. ExxonMobil has not yet returned and Putin has since extended the deadline for the sale of the unclaimed Exxon stake, first to January 1, 2026, and then again to January 1, 2027. Exxon has stated it does not intend to return and invest.
But the discussions around Sakhalin-1 and Nord Stream 2 are reportedly part of a broader, secret, private diplomatic effort. Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff have explored a Ukraine peace plan that includes a way out for the Kremlin via bribery, such as selling the Americans access to Arctic energy for cheap and icebreaker technology and the resumption of major projects like Sakhalin-1 and Nord Stream 2 on favorable terms to American companies. Apparently, American investors have already been found for the Nord Streams, the only obstacle left are the formal sanctions. Note, when I say “American” it almost certainly is the kind of “American” that Wifkoff and Kushner and Lutnik are.
If anything, the members of the Resistance are all competing to cut a separate peace deal with Washington first, and are trying to throw one another under the table.
Sometimes, I wonder if Iran is still secretly sending Israel oil through the pipeline they built in the 60s. The Israeli media reported that it was still secretly operational back in 2017 and that gag orders remain in effect. Here:
A company initially set up to transport oil from Iran to Israel is to continue to operate secretly, the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee ruled Sunday, with anyone breaching the gag order subject to a 15-year jail sentence, Calcalist news site reported.
The Knesset committee ruled that the workings of the Eilat-Ashkelon Pipeline Co (EAPC), which is not subject to most of Israel’s laws including taxation or building regulations, will remain under the military censor. In addition, a new company controlled by the government with the same name, known as EAPC-B, will also be run in secrecy, though the latter will be subject somewhat to Israeli law, including liability for taxes.
The penalty for leaking secrets of the company was set at a maximum of 15 years in prison.
The EAPC was originally set up in 1968, during the War of Attrition, when the Suez Canal was threatened by Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser.
And in 2020, the Iranians also put a gag order on discussion of the Iran-Israel oil pipeline. Here:
Notice of National Iranian Oil Company regarding the Eilat-Ashklon pipeline
The National Iranian Oil Company, by issuing a notice and providing explanations regarding the Eilat-Ashklon pipeline lawsuit, asked the media to strictly avoid any speculations and publishing news and information in this field.
Mizan News Agency –
– According to the information base of the National Iranian Oil Company, a number of news sites have recently published news and information regarding the Eilat-Ashklon pipeline located in occupied Palestine, as well as the legal claims of the National Oil Company of Iran against the occupying regime of Quds, that the National Oil Company of Iran, regardless of the accuracy of the news and information published by the news sites, in this regard, answered the issues raised and also clarified the litigation process, published a notice as follows:
“The case related to the Eilat-Ashkelon oil pipeline has been submitted to the International Court of Arbitration since 1994, but due to the legal requirement of the parties to the dispute to observe the principle of confidentiality in international arbitrations as well as the need to observe the national interests, the strategy and policy of the National Iranian Oil Company regarding the legal dispute of the National Iranian Oil Company against the Zionist usurping regime has always been to use all the available legal capacities to protect the interests and rights of fraud, seriously From the public release of any news …
… which, why would you do that if nothing was going on?
And would such a potential revelation surprise anyone?
Really?
Putin was selling NATO resources through Ukraine for most of the conflict with no interruptions. Nobody balked or blinked. It was all taken in stride as part of some cunning masterplan.
Hell, when the UAF took Kursk, the Gazprom gas continued to flow from the terminal there, in Russia, that the UAF had captured and held for half a year. Like, this backhanded under the table activity shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone at this point.
Russia has increased its sales to EUrope this year.
- Imports of Russian gas to the EU increased in early 2026, particularly:
- Between January and May 2026, pipeline imports rose 7% year-on-year while LNG imports increased by 11%.
- Looking specifically at the time since the Regulation came into effect (18 March 2026), LNG imports increased by +17% from 18 March to 31 May 2026 (compared to the same period in 2025), despite a ban on short-term LNG imports since April 2026. Russian pipeline imports have increased by 5% year-on-year (for the same period 18 March to end May).
- The increase in Russian LNG imports is driven by a combination of factors including frontloaded deliveries ahead of the tighter restrictions, contract adjustments, and some previously transhipped volumes which may have remained in the EU with the ban on transhipments. The current geopolitical context is also deemed relevant, pointing to efforts to maximise supply from alternative sources following the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
- Limited early effects of the ban are visible, including lower pipeline flows via Türkiye Strandzha 1 (-65%, year-on-year from 18 March to end May 2026) after the ban kicked in on 18 March 2026. Stronger impacts are expected once the full LNG and pipeline bans take effect in 2027.
Why is it so controversial for me to point out these facts?
These figures are openly published in the media for crying out loud.
Serious people like, investors, oil companies and weapons-makers need to know this information, I guess. Non-serious people, they’re fed ZAnon emotional slopaganda about secret Patriot Resistances. Grow up, people.
