The US tried to negotiate to buy Ukraine’s rare earth metals, but Zelensky refused to sell, finding he gota better offer from the Europeans. Putin knows that he can pocket the resources if his army keeps advancing. He’s offering to sell to China at a good price to China. Biden was well aware of his war aims to secure Ukraine’s resources for the US empire. Trump tried to hang on to that aim but if he’s pulling away US support from NATO, he will lose out on the carve up obviously.
