When do governments have a second thought about anything? The starting point is that people who become ministers are woefully unqualified for much more than a low-level civil service position and most have no idea of life in the real world, having gone from university and a few think tanks straight to parliament.
Why don’t schools refuse to pay and defend themselves from taxation as they are charitable foundations. These are not eligible to pay tax. Politicians set them up all the time to pay themselves nice salaries and pensions after salting away tax free billions. Their charities are often debatable as to whether they really are charities. Schools are definitely charities.
I don’t understand VAT. I thought it meant value added, but what’s value added in the education system? Does it mean that the child knew nothing and knowledge was pumped into him or her at school?
