The Tap Layout

Hi all. Over the last few weeks The Tap has welcomed more posters and a lot more posts. It’s at the point where the current layout is struggling to best present the posts and make best use of space.

With that in mind we’ll shortly be testing some new themes and layouts. If the tap appears different please post your comments and views below this post. Hopefully over time we’ll find a layout that is better suited to managing and displaying the high number of posts we’re getting.

Keep the posts coming and lets continue to share information essential to navigating and understanding this challenging world.

Regards,

John – Webmaster

Yes John, its good to see more posting and lets hop[e the viewers increase proportionately. I pass a lot of the posts here with the Tap link to recipients of my e-mail list. Thanks for all the work you do in maintaining this site.

Historically one way to achieve this was posting links in comments of popular sites / blogs etc. Similar with social media and Youtube / Rumble etc.

If this is done right the SEO figures for the site should show improved hits and engagement.

It may be beneficial to arrange a co-ordinated campaign on this basis.

Factors perhaps worthy of consideration are the distribution of potential audience accross devices and browser types.

    e.g
    Internet users by distribution
    56% Mobile devices
    41% Desktop devices
    3 % Tablets/Other

Don’t entirely agree with this as all the more posters mean all the more posts which inevitably means the blog will get flooded daily with posts. Two posts max per poster might be a better approach.

I can sympathise with your view Gordon, with so much info coming out, its a job to keep up with it all. Also it is important to have variety to interest a greater number of viewers.

      • Gordon says:

Agreed but there’s only so much we can take in in a certain number of hours a day and much will be missed by over zealous blog posters.
