In Mid-term Elections, Taiwan Voters Choose China Over Independence – Historic Defeat

The recent Taiwanese elections were supposed to be a referendum on challenging China, with the country’s President, Tsai Ing-Wen, throwing her weight behind a policy of continued confrontation and eventual pursuit of independence.

But that’s apparently not what the Taiwanese voters wanted, as they roundly defeated the President’s governing party, leading to her resignation.

Jimmy discusses the popularity of the “One China” policy that has been in place for decades and the Taiwanese people’s unwillingness to submit to fearmongering over a Chinese invasion.
