Why don’t we use Thorium as a Nuclear fuel.

I personally feel, that in the UK, our Nuclear industry, is inexorably linked to the Nuclear weapons industry, hence the materials that they use and produce. The presenter in this video, does make an excellent case for the use of Thorium as an energy source.
