It’s what they’re not saying. Hormuz and Iran are a distraction.
Mon 10:00 pm +00:00, 16 Mar 2026It’s all about the Straits of Hormuz. It’s all about Kharg Island. Send in the marines.
Only thing is – it’s nothing to do with either.
US strategy is to take advantage of the fact that the USA is energy independent while the rest of the world (bar Russia) is not.
The way to do that is to cut off the energy supply to the rest of the world, especially China which in a few years time will, otherwise, eclipse US power.
So Venezuela. Done.
Russian energy – blitzed with missiles, and her ships seized, the so-called shadow fleet.
And then the master stroke. Get Iran to close the Straits of Hormuz and block China’s main remaining suppliers of energy.
It’s a master stroke as the US didn’t even need to do the blocking.
Now a flotilla of US marine-carrying ships is on its way (slowly) from the South China Sea where it has been interdicting shipping, to take Kharg Island and punish Iran for closing the Straits.
Inside the Straits, the US is attacking Chinese-supplying ships as they ride at anchor. Sitting ducks. Another brilliant way to cut off China. Get all her energy fleet locked at anchor where US’ allies can pick them off with drones at their leisure.
Of course the marines won’t go anywhere near the Straits. Another ‘narrative’ to draw you off the scent. The flotilla will simply hold up and prevent any ships that escape Hormuz on their way to China from proceeding.
Yet the media keeps all eyes on the Straits, and tells the world that it matters that Middle Eastern cities and Gulf States are being hit along with myriad US military bases. It’s all a massive distraction.
The target of US aggression is not ultimately Iran. It never was. The attack on Iran is the same as the attack on Venezuela. It’s all one move to deprive China of energy and trade.
Brian Berletic nearly says as much, but treads carefully around the subject. But read between his lines. This is exactly what he is saying.
All other commentators like RItter are locked into an Iran versus US narrative. Very clever, my US friends. The real target of this war never was to be found in the Middle East.
It’s not just Ritter. Here’s yet more distraction and pointing of the camera at the firework display being laid on by Iran and others in the hot region.
The incompetent Trump narrative is yet another distraction. Pantomime at its finest. Goodies and baddies.
Danny Haiphong and many others can’t see 1,000 marines sailing into the Gulf and turning the Iran war around. They see the impossibility of the script, but still buy the narrative.
It’s not what the Amercians say they will do that they should be looking at. Look at what they will actually be doing and discuss that – please.
Brilliant coverage of the events taking place but framed inside the wrong narrative.
