They would need tankers over Iran to refuel the F35s. Yet Iran has advanced air defence.
Patrick – aircraft carriers are cumbersome and can’t be at sea for months. As a show of force, it’s a very irresponsible way to act militarily. There is no coherent diplomatic campaign either.
The Iranians are not afraid of the US. They don’t want a symbolic tit for tat. They want to defeat US aggression once and for all. There is a lot of risk for the US, but what reward? Is this act of desperation on behalf of the Netanyahu regime? The Iranians are ready to hit back. The US is risking large numbers of naval assets.
Is the US navy able to perform? Locked in the 20th century approaching a war in the 21st century, where 3D radar can detect stealth aircraft 300 miles away, and ships 300 miles away.
The strike group is being kept 1000 miles off shore from fear of Iranian missiles. Carriers were great in WW2 as there was no midair refueling. Aircraft carriers are merely big fat targets.
Tomahawk missiles have a 1000 mile range so the ships must approiach closer to shore. Not all targets are on the coast.
Jordan is concerned about hosting a US attack from Jordan. Iraqi airspace is very important including Kurdistan.Iran will have to attack Israel, and all other countries being used for an attack.
There could be five or six countries required to operate against Iran. Or will US fire Tomahawks from submarines? Will Turkey cooperate?
Regime change is impossible. Any attack on Iran will galvanise the country. In face of assassinations,sanctions and attacks from Israel, Iran is proud of holding out against the US.
Trump has no coherent strategy. He wants capitulation, which won’t happen. Now what?
Since June attack on Iran by Israel/US, Iran has accepted all the help on offer from Russianand China, which includes radars that can see planes over three hundred miles from shore.
In June they didn’t have that capability. Planes kept back from inland even then, but now attacking planes can be seen way out at sea. Iran can do significant damage now.
On Jan 29th Iran, China, and Russia signed a joint security pact, when the CIA put agents into the streets, and Iran was able to benefit from Chinese intelligence as to CIA networks.
Iran is prepared to fight on their own – they have multi stage rockets, satellites that can acquire targets, advanced electronic warfare capability, many drones, cruise missiles. Tomahawk equivalent, linked to proprietary satellites. They also built air defence, and not much into fighter aircraft. Iran has internediate range missiles that can hit Diego Garcia, and Cyprus. Cyprus will be hit as a key aircraft.
False flag attack coming? Israel could well attack US ships and blame it on Iran. Israel is in need of this war, which it wants the US to fight on its behalf.
