US denies the attack on Iran by foreign-controlled mobs and the 20 million Iranians who went on street to support their government
Thu 5:48 pm +00:00, 19 Feb 2026 1Iranian government is elected. Supreme Leader has no legislative role. The system is popular and supported by the people.
US claims the people want regime change. They don’t.
Military action will not change this.
Iran is a country with many mixed heritages united in the Iranian Republic, with a faith component at its core.
The people are the state.
UK Starmer – will not support US attack on Iran as Diego Garcia is within range of Iranian drones and missiles.
If Starmer genuinely will not support the US attack on Iran, DG could be the main factor and there are other British bases in the Middle East.
Britain has assisted former US/Israeli attacks on Iran. Cyprus is an active facility – Akrotiri base could be hit by Iranian counter strikes.
UK is possibly more rational than Trump administration which is desperate to move on news agenda from Epstein files.
Starmer blocks Trump from using RAF bases to strike Iran
the UK has yet to give consent owing to concerns raised by government lawyers, first reported by The Times, that participating in the strikes could be a breach of international law.
Government sources said the UK was unlikely to support any pre-emptive military strike on Iran, following a similar refusal to participate in the US president’s attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities last summer.
The UK could be held responsible for an illegal attack on Iran by the US under a UN edict passed in 2001, if it had “knowledge of the circumstances of the internationally wrongful act”.
