Real Man Bob Challenges Legal Fiction
Wed 10:07 am +00:00, 1 Oct 2025Where does your council tax go? To pay for your dustbin service? Roads? Pot holes? War? Exactly where? West Suffolk resident Bob Seyes wondered about it and took action accordingly.

Bob ended up attending a magistrates court upon a letter of summons, only to find they were not expecting him. He was told, in person, he would be marked down as liable and absent. Ian Gallin is the CEO of West Suffolk Council and following Bob’s tale of events, I wonder if the CEO is little more than legal fiction on a £200K salary. Nice job if you can get one.
This experience of Bob’s does have a ring of Monty Python about it.

27 mins: He’s one of 617 on the council tax listing today! That’s at £75 per head court fees. They were not expecting Bob to turn up. Imagine if 617 had turned up.
‘Just call me Bob!’ said Bob and asked who was addressing him.
A magistrate official: ‘I’m not obliged to give you a name.’
Bob offered two books: the Oxford English Dictionary or Black’s Law Dictionary?
‘Which language are we speaking today?’
‘English!’
Bob was told he’d be marked down as ‘liable and absent’.
Bob: ‘But, I’m here!’
Clown world continuum.
Responsible Taxation and International Law
In 2001 the UK Government ratified the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court by enacting the International Criminal Court Act and the International Criminal Court (Scotland) Act. These two laws make it a criminal offence in the UK for any person to engage in war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide and conduct ancillary to those crimes, such as aiding, abetting counselling or procuring the commission of an offence. This includes the collection of taxes that will be used in the commission of such crimes. It is our lawful duty not to be complicit in funding such crimes via our taxes.

ProbityCo is an independent, voluntary group of people from across Britain who advocate for war tax resistance. We believe that so long as our government is unwilling to uphold those international (ratified) laws to which it is a signatory, the responsibility to uphold those laws falls on us, the British taxpayer.
A portrayal of CEO Ian Gallin, who from my experience denies any responsibility for potholes in West Suffolk. He does advocate for climate emergency policy and a sex education curriculum for primary school children including masturbation, anal sex and gender transition. I guess Ian Gallin will secure a 2/3 of his salary in a pension deal. As I typed earlier, nice job if you can get it.
