Mr Bean paints St George’s Cross on a roundabout

A1 spoof.

Almost too much.

But amusing.

Why Mr Bean?

Is he to be the symbol for English Independence?

Maybe he is!

The music is wrong.  Rule Britannia is not an English anthem, more a theme for the butcher’s apron, and soul-deadening in its effect.

How about Jerusalem…how Jesus came to England and inspired an independent country into being.

Mr Bean could lipsync that one if he had to.

Better surely would be Johnny English, another Rowan Atkinson character –
