Europe being Dumped is in hysteria. It’s time for common sense.

So now the United States have reached a point where their debt is very problematic the Trump musk everyone

concerned that the US might go bankrupt they see the rest of the world trying to shift away from the dollar US can’t
compete technologically against the Chinese anymore they can’t defeat the Russians in Ukraine and so they have to
rethink because keep in mind the Biden strategy for how to deal with US
relative decline was you know you have this um diversification but the Russians and
Chinese are really at the center so Biden’s objective is let’s knock out the Russians and once we’ve knocked out the
Russians then we can focus all of our resources on China and as so many
American leaders have said this is an opportunity to knock out Russia while fighting with ukrainians so we don’t
lose any troops and we can still uh remove Russia from the ranks of great
Powers uh obviously this has failed spectacularly
so and indeed not only on
the battlefield but the whole economic infrastructure has now shifted very rapidly away from the West as a result
that is you know stealing the Russian central banks uh Sovereign funds that
was definitely something that uh reduced trust in the US Le Financial system and
now again I think the united states recognizes unip poity is over and this means they have to now begin
to take into consider ation Russia they will try to win the Russians over pray create some splits between Russia and
China I don’t think it’s going to work but long story short now suddenly Russia and us have to come togethe
this crisis and instead of the Europeans and Ukraine is being the main allies of
America to crush Russia they’re now in the way and uh America is more or
throwing them under the bus so so it all makes a lot of sense [Music]

on this episode of the what the finance podcast I have the pleasure of Welcome Back a very popular guest Glenn De uh

it’s a Glenn is professor at the University of uh Southeastern Norway as well as a well-known geopolitical
commentator so uh Glenn thanks so much for coming on the podcast today oh thank you it’s great to be back on no problem

looking forward to the conversation you’re just saying it’s a crazy 10 days that you have never seen in your career

before so it’ be interesting to hear your opinion on what we sort of experience those past 10
days no it’s just been uh yeah one event after the other become quite wild began
with uh Marco Rubio announcing that the unipolar order is over and uh suggesting
that the US now has to adjust to the entirely new set of rules of multipolarity and then of course you had
the Munich Security Council no sorry Munich security conference um in which
um yeah it’s um the yeah it’s be essentially the the
Western Powers meeting and inviting of course other parts of the world and it’s
an opportunity for Western countries to point out why like who are the main
adversaries what where’s the security challenges coming from uh and instead you had the vice president JD Vance
arguing that your main threats aren’t from China or r Russia it’s uh Europe
descent into authoritarianism and the Europeans of course very upset and then
we learn that uh that U Heth is telling
the Europeans also that the new peace agreement in Ukraine uh will have to be
based on some just some common sense which means no NATO expansion uh Ukraine will not be able to
get its territories back there will be no US security guarantees and also just on icing on top is that
the United States will not be prioritizing Europe anymore. In other words America is pivoting out of Europe
and then of course they announc negotiations uh or the start of talks so the Russians and Americans meet in Saudi
Arabia the ukrainians and Europeans are not invited uh the Europeans even ask
General Keith Kellogg can you promise US the Europeans will being involved and he clearly says no so it’s um yeah and of
course over the last two days we’ve seen the Trump Administration and selinski
throw insults at each other and Trump arguing that Ukraine started this war
they could have negotiated any time in the past three years and now he will take care of business without them so
it’s a yeah you could make this up this is this is a a lot of huge ENT
developments happening very over a very short period of time yeah and where did you see it going

because as you said it’s happened so quickly and it does seem it’s sort of almost a POS them event where you know these two I guess Powers people would

maybe argue if Russia is still a great power but they are two um large countries negotiating and then about a

country that’s not not included in the situation do you see it as another event like that or how what do you

think well I think what’s happening is is not that unreasonable it it sounds a

bit crazy but it’s because this is a huge shift this is the again end the world order I think if we take a step

back and look at what’s actually been happening it it does make some sense because uh keep in mind that after

the Cold War we began or the United States decided to establish a new world

order based on global Primacy or hemony unipolarity now this this is a very

different set of rules uh usually when you have uh in International System the

great Powers will have to cooperate to some extent they have to recognize the principle of indivisible security that

means you know one side shouldn’t expand the security at the expense of others and the great Powers try to settle

things between them and so yeah don’t expand your security at the expense of others this is the key however in a

hegemonic order H the rules are very different now security doesn’t depend on the great Powers not undermining each

other and again engaging in security competition no uh security depends on uh

just the main the dominant power the United States being so dominant that no other great power can even uh think

about challenging it and this was the main argument that came around in the 1990s by the people either opposing NATO

expansion or the one who are in favor of it they said yes we might alienate the Russians yes they will feel threatened

but who cares uh there there are Third Rate power no one cares anymore and this

is the hegemonic piece this is one sign being so dominant you don’t have to take into consideration others now over time

what happens is the Hedon loses its dominant position it exhausts its U

resources it weakens from within and at the same time you see new centers of

power emerging at the periphery which will then begin to collectively balance the US with seen this most prominently

with bricks so now the United States have reached a point where their debt is

very problematic the Trump musk everyone concerned that the US might go bankrupt they see the rest of the world trying to

shift away from the dollar US can’t compete technologically against the Chinese anymore they can’t defeat the

Russians in Ukraine and so they have to rethink because keep in mind the Biden

strategy for how to deal with us relative decline was you know you have

this um diversification but the Russians and Chinese are really at the center so

Biden’s objective is let’s knock out the Russians and once we’ve knocked out the Russians then we can focus all of our

resources on China and as so many American leaders have said this is an

opportunity to knock out Russia while fighting with ukrainians so we don’t lose any troops and we can still uh

remove Russia from the ranks of great powers uh obviously this has failed uh

spectacularly so and indeed not only on the battlefield but the whole economic

infrastructure has now shifted very rapidly away from the West as a result that is you know stealing the Russian

central banks uh Sovereign funds that was definitely something that uh reduced

trust in the US lead Financial system and now again I think the united states

recognizes unipolarity is over and this means they have to now begin to take into consideration Russia they

will try to win the Russians over PR create some splits between Russia and China I don’t think it’s going to work

but long story short now suddenly Russia and us have to come together resolve

this crisis and instead of the Europeans and ukrainians being the main allies of

America to crush Russia they’re now in the way and uh America is more or less

throwing them under the bus so so it all makes a lot of sense indeed I actually published a book back in

2021 with the title Europe as the Western peninsula of Greater uraia where I made the point that the Europe would

end up in a situation at some point where it would have to either diversify

or become a vessel which the US wouldn’t even want to keep that anymore so it’s a

very interesting period in history but the Europeans are not handling it very well they’re quite hysterical over here

so yeah a lot to touch on there is uh it is
