Teachers telling tales
Sat 12:30 am +00:00, 1 Feb 2025 6UPDATE – 3.2.2025 The school has belatedly realised the seriousness of the situation and they arranged a meeting with my wife this morning where she was able to describe why we don’t believe them that our daughter claimed she was left home alone. It has taken a week of tears, lack of sleep and body pain for my wife. But she feels that the wound committed against her can now start to heal. The teacher we believe originated the lie actually told another lie in our opinion, in the meeting. Our daughter does not use the word ‘shaky’. That teacher will never learn, but the others took things on board and sincerely apologised. The school has a long way to go in weeding out teachers who are willing to tell lies on a whim. At least the headmaster is going, resigning two weeks ago after only two years in post. I have covered his own battles with knowing what is the truth in other posts. Let’s hope they appoint someone who knows well the difference between right and wrong, as his replacement. They’re apparently all nice people, but ‘nice’ is not the same thing as honest. Honesty is often not about being nice, in fact it can be the exact opposite. Let’s hope today’s meeting improves the school’s operations and the younger teachers learn that the rules are not the only aspect they need to consider when when making human decisions.
ORIGINAL POST
The teacher asked our daughter and her class to imagine what they thought to be scary and describe it. The usual stuff is spiders, giants, dragons and the dark.
As our daughter has often told us and others, her fear is if we went out and left her alone in the house. She has a vivid imagination and did a great job describing how she fed herself standing on a little chair to reach the cupboards, and other details.
The teacher claims that she then said that this was actually happening to her.
I doubt she did this, as she is not normally a liar.
This teacher then informed the next teacher in line saying there was a safeguarding issue.
This next teacher in line challenged my wife at pick up saying that we were leaving our daughter unattended at home, and that our daughter had told them so. What she failed to mention is that she, the second in line teacher had actually asked our daughter if the story was real or imagined, and our daughter made it quite clear there was always a baby-sitter named Aunty K….and she was not left alone in reality.
My wife, being so accused allegedly from the lips of our daughter, was devastated. How could it be that our daughter had lied and told her teachers she was left alone unattended at home and how scary it was for her? My wife couldn’t sleep and we missed all our evening appointments like swimming and maths online lesson. My wife was crying all the evening and asking our daughter aged six why she had lied. Our daughter insisted that it was only ‘if she was left alone’.
IT TOOK FOUR NIGHTS BEFORE MY WIFE STARTED SLEEPING AGAIN.
My wife who instinctively trusts teachers (a Filipina) was confused. How could a teacher be lying to her and accusing her of something she would never do?
(To accuse a FIlipina of not caring properly for her child in the Philippines would be a killing offence requiring retribution – probably the most humiliating accusation that is possible. The schools have not the first clue about foreign cultures and how dangerous it is to accuse and make Asians lose face – although they are very happy to take foreigners’ money to pay their salaries. This is not over yet and the anger and hatred resulting from making my wife lose face needs to be dealt with by a face to face meeting with the accuser, which the said teacher is carefully avoiding. She knows she lied of course and doesn’t want to have to face us.)
The schools are being put under pressure to have cases to report to school inspectors, and they are fabricating them.
This is the second time we have experienced such brutishness. Similar happened to our son at the same school when he and friends were accused of making a racist comment at another school after a football match. Totally fabricated, the accusation was immediately dropped when I suggested calling the Police.
This is a private school in Shropshire. Lies are the norm nowadays it seems, from head teachers down. The teachers are brazen. We have to do safeguarding they say. One day they will wonder where all the children went. The children know their teachers are lying, and at the very least lack basic common sense. Shape up world. This is pathetic.
UPDATE – Why are teachers teaching children to fear? They are showing a video of a girl about to perform on stage getting stage fright and folding in fear in the wings. This makes a big impact on the children. If it’s National Curriculum to teach children to be afraid rather than be confident, this is a Satanic agenda. The State wants timid children and distressed parents. Satan would require nothing less.
My wife still struggles with the concept that some teachers lie, and they have evil agendas imposed on them, which a few teachers appear to love rather too much, and will fabricate facts to get them to run.
Luckily our daughter can see through it, can recognise a lie, and realises that Jesus does not want her to be afraid. She has to drive out the Devil, beloved by her school, from her own realm. ‘You can feel it,’ she says. Children have a natural wisdom, and it is this the school agendas are putting under attack.

Pathetic indeed. My grandkids experiences are similar, certainly a lack of common sense from teachers who toe the line, spout the approved words and phrases, and show little originality
The State education system is degraded now compared with the past when individuals were comparatively free to be individual in their teaching. That was certainly my experience of teachers at school in the ’50’s and ’60’s, some fierce moral characters, a lot of decent types and some abject wimps too. The wimps didn’t last long, they were usually crushed by hard nosed kids 🙂
Now there seems to be a stultifying uniformity, teachers and kids. The whole education system has been undermined by correctness and woke. It’s immoral too, what sort of example for young kids is lying straight to their parents face? Bound to undermine respect for them. Safeguarding? How is lying safeguarding?
I can’t help but think that some of these teachers know it too. But they do as instructed to earn their filthy lucre. They lack the moral character that was once taken for granted in teachers, and society in general
Finally, when I see some of these modern teachers then, I sometimes think “You are young enough to have known nothing better than this system”. The young twenty somethings went through the same system after all , they never left school and know nothing else, no other way. I suppose that is some sort of excuse for them. But really there is never an excuse for lack of observation and thinking is there
That’s how it feels Pete. Dare I say it, they seem to enjoy their little bit of power. And if you challenge they always take it out on the child whose fault it is not. That’s why we keep very quiet and say nothing about multiple incompetence and minor injustices. But when they try out accusing mothers of abandoning their children, I’m sorry but when it’s me they’re trying out, they have a shock coming. They usually ask us to keep it quiet in these cases, but talking openly until things change is the only way. So many parents just back down, which is why the teachers think they can get away with this kind of thing. Blood can boil as surely as water.
“That’s why we keep very quiet and say nothing about multiple incompetence and minor injustices” A wise course, I was thinking that myself when I read your article…
But, as you say, there are limits and, ultimately, backing down in the face of such immorality would not be an option for me either
I’m lucky in that my kids missed the worst of this so I never really faced anything similar as a parent myself. And, as a grandparent now then, I never will
They’re going to take child reprisals anyway I find, and favour their favourites who are children of teachers for the most part (or of seniors in local NHS – so helpful for jumping the queue). It makes it easier for the kid not to have respect for teachers if this is what they have become. Their reprisals have less effect the more they do them. You move outside the school to find really capable private teachers who themselves are sick of how schools have become (if you can afford it). You can’t permit little operators to fire their puny weaponry forever. There comes a time when you must react at a level that shakes them and bugger the consequences. I find the outside teachers mostly leave the inside for dust, and inspire the children far more to greater things – and you feel so pleased you gave up hoping the school would come good. School’s all about the social life and having fun with friends. And avoiding many of the teachers who make you squirm for their lack of interest (except in their own children), apart from a few who are dedicated and fully caring. Even now they still exist! These ones you will remember forever as we remember the good ones sixty years later. The assaults on children were then physical and less psychological. Psychological is worse. As a parent it is crucial to defend them.
“The assaults on children were then physical and less psychological. Psychological is worse”
Yes, most definitely
A clip round the ear, or a well aimed blackboard duster, or grabbing the short hairs on the back of your neck, were commonplace in my day. Effective and no real harm done. Cane as a last resort for the stubborn who didn’t get the message
All that was swept away with the tide of leftist wokeness. Leaving psychological, and exclusion, as their only real options. I pity teachers in that respect
The whole society has been brainwashed to exclude effective discipline of the young. The modern parent daren’t slap their kid anymore, certainly in public. No wonder kids are often out of control and have a behavioural “syndrome” of some sort
Caning was used far too frequently without giving any warning or explanation. You just learn to hide your thoughts and pretend to be fully on board with the headmaster’s favourite pastimes or objectives. You learn to do this without even a thought and bury your own ideas deep out of sight. It can take decades to undo the programming.
