You’re likely correct N’, but it is to their advantage to give the impression that they have been in control of everything always and thus are invulnerable and our resistance is therefore futile. They are and always have been in control of the narrative and history, and can thus give whatever impression suits.
I think Ian, that is precisely the reason they were brought back to the UK where they could be kept under surveillance as Stalin was a loose canon!
