    He was recording this on the Hungarian border where he was planning to request asylum. Why he didn’t wait until he got over it, I don’t know, but I do hope he is safe.

    He was teasing the tiger with his videos from Ukraine, instead of getting out and then recording his views.

      Because he wanted his situation on the record Belyi. Including documenting his recent unpleasant experiences in the Ukie remand system. Just in case he was picked up at the border and the chance would be lost

      He did 3 vids and a long Twitter thread before he left Ukie

      Seems like he might have been picked up too. See my comment in reply to newensign below, he’s overdue by 18 hours or more

        Because he had to travel miles to get to that border, I’m wondering why he didn’t just go over the nearest point and into Russia.

        My choice in that situation would have been to leave at the time of the first arrest; it was obvious that if he continued his broadcasts, which he did, they would come after him harder. Perhaps they gave him his passports back was to encourage him to leave and not cause an incident.

          I agree with you about his first arrest, he should have left then. See my comment in reply to newensign below. He admitted in the vids that he has plenty of funds available, so maybe that was a factor in his thinking

          But he certainly was skating on thin ice after that first arrest. I doubted him at that time and wondered in comments here whether he is a protected agent, simply because he didn’t leave then

          But Larry Johnson, who is “ex” CIA [are they ever “ex”?] said the other day:

          “There has been a lot of uninformed commentary about Gonzalo, with some declaring him as some sort of intelligence asset. That is utter nonsense. No CIA case officer in their right mind would sign up someone like Gonzalo for several reasons. First, he is an American citizen. CIA is prohibited from recruiting U.S. citizens as intelligence assets. Second, Gonzalo’s commentary, analysis and hosted round tables did not in any way advance a U.S. Government position. Just the opposite — he was (and is) a strong critic.”

          Hard to know how to read that. Because it works either way, whether Larry is “ex” or still operating

    Perhaps he knows a secret way in without having to run the gauntlet of border control, as his passport will reveal that he is on bail. There are many ethnic Hungarians on the Ukrainian side of the border who don’t like Zelenski!

      He says in the third video that crossing the border “by crossing a field” isn’t realistically possible. And that he intended to cross the Hungarian border using one his passports [Chile and US]

      Both passports were given back to him when he was bailed at the beginning of July. Which seems a bit strange given that he also says that the judge ordered him not to leave the country

      He will claim political asylum in Hungary if he gets there

      One of the comments on his vid said “if you do manage to cross the Hungarian border then, go straight to Serbia, which you ca enter freely on your US passport”. Good advice I thought as US obviously has not extradition treaty with Serbia

      But I agree newensign, surely he would be picked up at the border because of his bail. Hope not

      He also said that he would post again to Twitter and YouTube if he got through. But this was 20 hours ago and nothing yet on either. Not looking good

        Thanks for the update Pete – I missed a few points as I was in a rush to put Tap’s post up and had a few interruptions. I was forgetting he was not Ukrainian otherwise it might have been easier. I don’t see how he could go straight to Serbia as there is no common border. Giving him his passports back is like telling him to leave, saying not to leave the country is but a formality for the record, but it makes one wonder if in fact he is an asset of the Cabal?

      The treatment of Lira makes it as clear as day ‘we’, English people, are supporting & funding the wrong side, full stop.
      It was a huge surprise to suddenly see him out. I heard The Duran discuss it before I saw his Tweet & videos.
      Shame on NATO & the collective West. Damn shame.
