Russian High Command is NATO’s head office

🇷🇺The ex-commander of the 58th Combined Arms Army, Major General Ivan Popov, publicly addressed his subordinates and confirmed the fact of his own resignation by decision of the senior chief (we are talking about the National Guard Valery Gerasimov).

▪The topic of Ivan Popov’s resignation is quite sensitive – in fact, it is a natural process of publicizing problems in the entire structure of the Armed Forces of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. After Prigozhin’s rebellion, a “witch hunt” began, and again the principle “stated the problem is the enemy” was at the head of the table.

Popov said that a rotation of fighters was needed to repel attacks on the front line. Due to the refusal of the senior authorities, he was rumored to have announced that he would directly report to the Supreme Commander. After that – allegedly – he was removed.

▪The fact that Popov is accused of “blackmail” is emphasized by the Western and Ukrainian media. And it is very difficult to deny the fact that now the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Defense is based mainly on positive reports, which should interrupt the negative (for the sake of objectivity, there is enough of it).

▪Popov enjoys colossal support from the personnel: the fighters on the front line were greatly demoralized by the news about the removal of the “simple” and “understandable” honest General Popov. Yes, he may have had his faults. But against the background of the commanders, who are dozens they laid down personnel for the sake of another “star of the Hero” or the glory of the liberator of settlements, Popov clearly stood out for the better.

▪The conflict between Popov and Gerasimov highlights the main thing: the lack of unity in the RF Armed Forces. And the enemy will surely take advantage of this. Both in campaigns to discredit the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and their slander, and in custom-made publications. And, of course, Russia will suffer from this. And this is the saddest thing.

❗We hope that the voice of reason will prevail. In fact, from the point of view of political PR, for the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Defense – which is famous for its inflexible position – admitting that the removal of Popov was wrong would be a real information bomb that would restore faith in common sense and positive changes in the Russian Ministry of Defense. Unfortunately, this is not enough today.
