Debunked – Air Chief Marshal, Sir Richard Knighton – “air superiority”
Sun 8:12 am +01:00, 16 Jul 2023Shortly following his unreserved apology for discriminating against white men recently appointed Air Chief Marshal, Sir Richard Knighton gave a speech which appears to advocate direct conflict with Russia, promoting a new “forever” cold war in the expectation that we will pay for this dark future in blood and treasure.
In the present context are these the words of a rational man ?
Upon Knighton’s appointment soon to be resigning Minister of Defence Ben Wallace said:
“I am delighted to congratulate Air Marshal Sir Richard Knighton on his promotion and appointment in June as Chief of the Air Staff. His previous roles have equipped him well to lead a modern, innovative and diverse Service. Diversity and inclusion nonsense aside, of the utmost concern is Knighton’s wrong headed opinion that Russia hasn’t achieved air superiority over Ukraine and his warning that…
“We are going to have to break into our integrated air and missile defences of our adversaries,” he said.
Sir Richard warned that the UK could face cruise missile and long-range missile attacks on “our air bases and our air forces” in the future, and that the UK should be prepared for “hybrid attacks on our logistics chains and our industrial base”.
“All of us are going to face those threats,” he added.
All of the above is of course easily avoided by abandoning the odious regime in Ukraine to its fate
rather than conducting an ill advised and risky ongoing campaign of escalation and provocation in our name.
As regards air superiority I pose the question. Is Knighton ill informed or intentionally deceptive ?
Ukraine no longer has an air force and little left in the way of air defences.

The Royal Air Force is ready to “fly and fight” against Russia, the force’s new head has said, despite concerns over cuts to the military.
In his first speech as Air Chief Marshal, Sir Richard Knighton told the Air Staff’s Global Air & Space Chiefs’ Conference that the UK was prepared to take on adversaries in the wake of Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine.
He said: “What we need to communicate, so that our adversaries comprehend that we have credible capability, is that we’re ready to fly and fight and that they will lose.”

Earlier this year, the United States warned that it no longer saw the UK as a top-level fighting force because of cuts made across the service.
Sir Richard made the comments while discussing the war in Ukraine, as he highlighted that neither side had managed to gain “air superiority”.

How can a man of honour keep lying ? How many times can a man of honour support death and destruction he does not agree with ?
