Beware car ‘upgrades’

I have a fairly new Hyundai Kona that I love and it just came back from the dealers with an update for the satnav.
But it turns out that’s not all.
In the new T’s & C’s the car is now equipped with new features. Geo Fencing and Geo Timing. The first sets off an alarm if you travel outside a set geographic area. The second does the same if the car is used outside of a specific time.
Both highly desirable features we would love to have of course.
These features can be activated to follow any future legal requirements of the government and no doubt the alarm will be able to switch the car off if I’m naughty enough to stray outside my 15 minute zone that’s coming. That’s not to mention the risk of a hacker taking control of my car.
So this has been done without my informed consent and had I been asked I would have refused it of course.
I have said disconnect the car from external sources completely and I’ll be happy or if not then take the car back for a refund.
The Service Manager is wide awake and knows this is only about big brother control.
Looking for a legal basis for a claim….’
It doesn’t seem that our concerns trouble them.
Is this an EV; electric vehicle?

No network connected programmable device is immune from this. All modern vehicles EV or not have that capability and others built in.

Independence is not only political. Solar panels feeding car with lecky in a vehicle that lasts thirty years, and it feels great. All fuels will be restricted. This is another plank of 15 minute cities. People who lose their jobs through carbon tyranny might escape by this method. BRoaden your thinking from football mentality Ned.

Being a lifelong blue, The Toffees then, I’m envious of your current lofty perch. I’ve seen us bag 4 league titles in my time, all as a season ticket holder too. That seems a long distant era now. Most excitement we ever get now is avoiding relegation, 2 seasons on the bounce for petes sake. Or beating the Redshite [Liverpool] our eternal friendly rivals.
