Erdogan one step closer to re-election. John Bolton’s Regime change attempts will not end with elections

Regime change more likely to be successful if a government is weak or divided.

Turkey is a radically different place from 40 years ago, when it was hugely western focused.

Turkish goverment has publicised such publications as The Economist with its openly disruptive cover illustrations.  The west has not hidden its intents.

Erdogan needs to start looking for a successor as he is ageing and increasingly frail; this will not be easy for him, but if he does not, then when he eventually leaves turbulence is likely.
