I would not have been too bothered myself I have to say in 1955. I turned one that year! All helped to boost the divorce rate and the breaking up of happy families, no doubt. Once they’d got the men all salivating and hopping from one foot to the other, they released feminism as the final body blow which made maintaining families impossible from any angle.
