Poland plans to spend 4% of its GDP on defense, which is twice the normal NATO norms and makes it the largest defense spending per capita.

The modernization program includes the purchase of 1,000 tanks from S. Korea, 250 from the US, 600 self-propelled howitzers, 18 HIMARS launchers, 288 MLRS systems from S. Korea, more than 1,000 Polish-made infantry fighting vehicles, 96 AH-64E Apache helicopters and 48 combat FA-50 aircraft from S. Korea.

Overall, Poland has placed more than $117 billion worth of arms orders through 2035, with a record $26 billion defense budget for the current year.

Poland wants to double the size of the Polish army, bringing it to 300,000.

The US Congress approved the allocation of 288.6 million dollars in military funding to help Poland contain the increased threat from Russia.”
