In this episode, Sal Mercogliano – maritime historian at Campbell University and former merchant mariner – discusses the decision by Russia and Ukraine, through the United Nation and Turkey, to extend the Black Sea Initiative by 120 days.

Coinciding with this decision, a unmanned surface vessel was used to attack the port of Novorossiysk, threatening that port’s ability to flow fuel from Central Asia pipelines and perhaps escalating the conflict in the Black Sea.
