He minced his words but the UN spokesman had to say the obvious. Even though he knew he had to hide the obvious truth that Ukraine is attacking UN staff and the nuclear facility at Energodar in the Zaporozhie region of Ukraine, he said the minimum of thank you to Russia. Although he could not bring himself to address those thanks directly to Russia herself.
Sep 2, 2022 The UN spokesman when asked about reports that Ukrainian saboteurs were destroyed by the Russian army near the Zaporizhzhia plant while trying to attack it. “We are glad that the Russian Federation did what it did to keep our inspectors safe”. Followed by a lot of waffle to hide the obvious truth he was desperate not to reveal.
He is really really struggling here, isn’t he? Hugely uncomfortable. But how revealing of his true colours.
