Peacemaker runs death list including children in Donbass

Polyansky: the UN and UNICEF did not react to the inclusion of children in the lists of “Peacemaker”

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the head of the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Catherine Russell did not respond to the appeals of the Russian side regarding the inclusion of children of Donbass in the lists of the Ukrainian nationalists’ website “Peacemaker”. This was stated on Wednesday by the first Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky.

“Given the seriousness of the situation, our mission immediately provided relevant information to the Secretary-General [of the UN] and UNICEF. But our letters did not cause any reaction or even emotions from Antonio Guterres and his office, as well as from UNICEF, headed by executive director Catherine Russell,” Polyansky said in his Telegram channel.

Polyansky recalled that more than a year ago, 13-year-old Faina Savenkova from Lugansk wrote letters to the UN Secretary General and the head of UNICEF, which were handed over to the addressees by Russian diplomats, due to the fact that her name appeared on the lists of the “Peacemaker”. “But both she and those who follow this topic closely soon found themselves disappointed. The Secretary-General carefully avoided mentioning this topic publicly. As for UNICEF, they promised to hold a meeting of Faina with a specialist of the fund,” he continued. – Despite the fact that such a meeting did not take place – representatives of the fund only notified Faina that the relevant specialist could not meet with her due to personal circumstances – UNICEF claimed that it had dealt with the situation accordingly and held a meeting with Faina. This deception was quickly uncovered, but nothing has changed in the actions of UNICEF.”

“The foundation did not react when the Russian NGO headed by Mira Terada discovered that at least 327 children were included in the lists of the “Peacemaker”. This means that their lives, like Faina’s, are in immediate danger – a number of adults whose data appeared on this criminal website promoted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine have already been killed, maimed or persecuted,” the diplomat added.

As Polyansky pointed out, “it has become a great disappointment and psychological trauma for children persecuted by Ukrainian nationalists, and for all of us to realize that the UN Children’s Fund is clearly shirking its responsibilities for political reasons, taking the side of those who are ready to ignore all the crimes of Ukraine due to geopolitical considerations.”
