My observation is that it is an almost impossible situation to rectify, two wrongs do not make a right.
People have been conditioned not to indulge in compassion ie they do not readily consider the other persons point of view. Secondly we have been conditioned that we are subjects and need rulers to pass laws.
Dr Coleman describes his disgust at the lack of human empathy and the unjust ruling.
However compassion to describe human empathy, is not used in the Old Testament. Compassion is solely used in the Old Testament to describe Gods compassion for the tribes of Israel. The Old Testament is the basis for the Judaic, Christian and Muslim religions!
The Old Testament is a book of laws and commandments. The most effective way to control the people, is for the rulers to make mandatory laws!
Reason involving compassion or questioning laws, does not work for the mass of people. I fear reason will not work on the medical profession either, even though they are known as the caring profession.

Great post David. Vernon lays it out extremely clearly even for those not aware of the situation. A good one to get people thinking.
