I’m not sure I agree, Ian. You have to survive what is going on and being too upset about it all the time won’t help. It’s like in the Philippines where I lived for seven years. You see poverty on the streets every day – beggars, hungry children, blind old people with no source of income etc, and most days you drive past giving a few coins. But every now and then one of these situations does get through to you, and you shake with tears streaming as your heart gives out emotion sometimes at the courage of the individual for persevering and showing pride in themselves despite it all. That’s what got to me anyway. It’s the same with friends getting ill on all sides now – you have to treat it as normal or how can you function and do your job, raise your kids. The ‘kids dying’ bit cuts through to her heart. She says you have to be careful who you talk to there. It’s a Police State. She’s a brave lady.
You’re probably correct Tap’, I get cynical and it’s easy to get to the stage where it is difficult to judge people. Take Doctors for example. As I said, you are very likely correct, I feel less judgemental this morning.
